Chimin was born on October 13, 1995, in Busan, South Korea. In addition to him, the family has a younger brother. Chimin attended Hodon Elementary School in Busan, and later Johnson High School, and at the same time attended the Just Dance Academy, where he mastered dance styles such as popping and locking. Before becoming a trainer, Chimin studied contemporary dance (contemporary) at the Higher School of Arts in Busan and was the best student in the department. One of the school's teachers offered Chimina an entrance exam to an entertainment company, and that's what brought the boy to Big Heat. After successfully auditioning in 2012, he transferred to the Korean School of the Arts, which he graduated from in 2014.
