Russia first handwritten newspaper The Vesti-Kuranty appeared at the beginning
of the 17th century. And on January 13, 1703 the first issue o f The Vedomosti
was published. Peter the Great considered this event very important and
he took part in the work on the newspaper.
The Vedoihosti contained information about success o f the Russian Army
and building of ships, educational riews, hews about life in other cities and towns
of Russia and Europe, descriptions o f weather and disasters.
