Victory Day is a holiday of the victory of the Red Army and the Soviet people over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Established by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 8, 1945 and celebrated on May 9 of each year. Since 1965, Victory Day is a non-working holiday. On Victory Day in Moscow an organized march to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with a wreath-laying ceremony is taking place, hero cities hold parades and festive salutes, in large cities - festive processions and fireworks, marches with photos of veterans - "Immortal Regiment".
