A state flag of Russian Federation is a rectangular width from three isometric horizontal stripes: overhead - white, middle - blue and lower - red color. Attitude of length of flag toward his width 2 : 3. The tints of blue and red color are not regulated a law. The Russian flag was born together with the first Russian war-ships and till the XIX century stayed belonging mainly naval culture. On the sides of boat of Peter I white, blue and red stripes were inflicted. And in 1693 detachment of small courts of Peter accomplished a hike on the Solovki islands already under a flag from equal horizontal white, turn blue and red stripes. Beginning of application of the Russian white-blue-red flag on land is related to the geographical opening of the Russian navigators
