In Kazakhstan is very vulnerable natural environment. The territory of the Republic mainly consists of steppes, semi-deserts and deserts. There are unique inland seas and lakes such as the Caspian, Aral, Balkhash, Zaisan, Alakol. As a result of anthropogenic loads on almost the entire territory of Kazakhstan disrupted the natural ability of the natural environment to ensure the future economic and social development of the country. Extensive development of agricultural production has left a trail of land degradation and impoverishment of the landscape, more than 60% of the country subject to the most severe desertification, which reduces soil fertility and, consequently, to a reduction in livestock productivity and crop production. Over 40 years of operation, virgin and fallow lands as a result of wind and water erosion lost 1.2 billion tons of humus.
