The history of volleyball began in the USA in the late 19th Massachusetts, and was invented by William Morgan, a native of new York. At this time he was a physical education teacher at one of the colleges in Holyoke. The creation of this sport, oddly enough, was inspired by the history of basketball, despite what is common in these kinds of sports not so much. In prehistory it is possible to note that basketball was invented by James Nesmith, and Morgan first met while studying in College.
