It was a dark and stormy evening when I arrived home from work.. I felt tired and was glad to be at home. As I was taking off my coat in the hall, I heard a strange noise coming from the kitchen. I felt afraid because I thought there was a burglar in there. I stood there silently trying to decide what to do . Then I decided to go into a kitchen to investigate. I took a deep breath, picked up my umbrella and slwly opened the kitchen door. I laughed with relief when I saw my neighbour`s cat on the kitchen table. It had come in through an open window to get out of the rain. I tok the cat and returned it to my neighbour. "Oh, there you are!" said the neighbour. "You scared me to death!" she said to cat. "It scared me to death too!" I said laughing.
