Derun is a national Ukrainian dish which in fact is a potato pancake. The main staginess of the Festival will be a competition for the most delicious Derun. Everyone will be able to compete against experienced cooking masters. There will be an authoritative jury for judgment the competition. Each guest can buy the “testing patent”, which gives a right to try all kinds of potato products and set a personal assessment for them. In frame of festival various contests, quizzes, exhibitions will be organized, which guarantee a good mood and many pleasant memories to city guests. The festival of Derun is an unforgettable journey into the world of national traditional cuisine, extraordinary Ukrainian tincture, decorated with Korosten’ identity and hospitality!The festival of Ukrainian national dish Borsch is held annually at Borschiv town, making this place to become the capital of Ukrainian cooking for the time of event. Local housewives compete in cooking traditional dish, which many years ago gave a name to this small town. In frames of “Borsch’yiv” Festival an exhibition and cooking competition will be held. Every village in the region will represent the own kind of Borsch and submit it for guests’ approval. About 50 kinds of Borsch will be presented totally.
