He promised that he wouldn't be late. • apologise + for + -ing "I'm sorry, I forgot about the game," he said. He apologised for forgetting about the game. 1 "I'm "I'm sorry I'm late," she said. (apologise) 2 "How about going to the game tonight?" she said. (suggest) 3 "It's very crowded in here," he said. (complain) 4 "Would you like to come to the race with us?" he said to Miras. (invite) 5 "OK! I'll be there," he said. (agree)
