ASKANIIa -NOVARussia's first private reserve was established near Kherson on the estate barons Pfalz- Fein . Felix became the founder of the reserve Pfalz- Fein , a highly educated man and an enthusiast , the collection of which were beginning aviaries , given to him by his father in 1874 after successfully passing exams at school. Even after 15 years, the area has been transformed into a unique natural complex where a forest park on the loose and in cages containing dozens of species of animals and birds, and on a fenced plot of virgin steppe bison roamed , antelopes , ostriches , zebras and deer.There, by the Pfalz- Fein and his assistant enthusiast KE Siyanko worked in the reserve exactly half a century ( since 1892 ), work on taming and domestication of animals.At the beginning of XX century the park was opened to visitors who can watch it more than 200 species of birds and more than 500 species of mammals.
