Our University
Taras Shevchenko State University of Pridnestrovie was founded in 1930. It is the oldest higher educational institution in the region.
At present the University has 2 institutes, 8 faculties and 2 departments. It provides the students with a high level of theoretical and practical knowledge according to Russian standards.
The students of the University have good conditions for studies. They are trained by experienced pedagogues and instructors, among them there are many professors, Doctors of Sciences, a lot of Candidates of Sciences and senior teachers. The labs are equipped with modern technologies, new devices and apparatus. Many students carry out research work and take an active part in the students’ scientific practical conferences which are held at the University every year.
The academic year is divided into two terms: winter term and summer term. At the end of each term the students take their tests and examinations.
There’s a department at the University where students can get a higher education without leaving their jobs. They study by correspondence combining work with studies. They are external students. The part-time students are given all the teaching material and different kinds of test-papers, consultations and instructions in all the subjects. The difference between them and full-time students is in the teaching procedure.
Our Government pays a great deal of attention to the young people and their education. Every year hundreds of students graduate from the University and become active and well-trained specialists of Pridnestrovie..
